Advices :

  1. Make sure that your motherboard could support your CPU and has the right chipset (AMD, Intel) (940,939,975,965,478...)

  2. Make sure your power supply is enough to support your computer (to be sure 550W-600W should be enough)

  3. Buy the right memory for your motherboard (ECC, DDR2, SDRam...)

  4. Some memory have to be buy pair (2 x 512mo,2 x 1 Go ...)

  5. verify if you buy the right hard drive to connect with your motherboard (SCSI,IDE, SATA,SATA II ....)

  6. Make sure to buy Sound card, Graphic card, network/modem card ... if they are not include on the MB

  7. If you want make a quad opteron or intel quad Xeon you have to buy a MB that support 2 CPUs (Tyan, Super Micro, Asus, Gigabytes...)

  8. And of course to have your quad on this MB you have to buy 2 CPUs (Opteron 2XX, Xeon 51XX...)

  9. If you buy a big & expensive hardware , you could also buy a warranty extension to 2,3 or 5 years, you never know ( generally warranty extension is not expensive and could be precious when your computer components (cpu, MB,..)will have some problem )

Components place inside the Case/enclosure/box

This number are not the step to follow but just show you where to put inside your case different hardwares.

Follow the step from " How to build your computer "

1- install the motherboard in the box so that its holes are lined up with the cases holes and fix the motherboard inside the case with provided screws

2- install & fix your power supply on your Case/box

3- before installing your  2 DVD-RW make sure that you have one slave and one master ... look at the back of your DVD player. Master is the main DVD player, slave you could assign to the DVD recorderFix them with screws on your case .connect them to the power supply and motherboard

4-install the floppy disk on your case like below ... with access to your floppy from outside :D . Fix with screws your floppy disk inside the box

5- If your hardrive is SATA II you don t have to be worried about slave or master no more :D just make sure that you fix it correctly inside the box and connect to the SATA connection on the motherboard + connect to power supply

Components place on motherboard

This number are not the step to follow but just show you where to put inside your case different hardwares.

Follow the step from " How to build your computer "

1- CPU: If you want a very fast & strong computer for chess or games. The cpu is the main concern . More your CPU is fast more your computer & chess engine is stronger Install your cpu first , there is only one way to put your cpu and fix it on the motherboard :D

2- CPU fan install the cpu fan, and connect it to cpu fan power on he motherboard. If you have a very bif cpu fan it will need to be connected on the powersupply too ... depend of your cpu fan

3- Memory Once you have the Memory chip in the memory slot, press down firmly till it snaps into place.

4- Power supply install & fix your power supply on your Case/box , connect it to the mainboard

5- Floppy disk connect your floppy disk to the mainboard and the power supply

6- SATA II hardrive  connect your hard drive to the SATA connection on your motherboard

7 PCI-E graphic card : connect your PCI-E graphic card to the PCI E X16 slot

8- DVD , DVD-RW :before installing your  2 DVD-RW make sure that you have one slave and one master ... look at the back of your DVD player. Master is the main DVD player, slave you could assign to the DVD recorderFix them with screws on your case connect them to the power supply and motherboard

How To Build your  Computer
Installing time(mn) steps/recommendation
1 Case 1-2  All components will go inside The case/Box

Slide the side panel off the case. Take off the screws ...

2 Power Supply 5 some Case have a big power supply (550W)... then you don 't have to buy a new one ... however if the power supply is only 300 W ... It is better to buy a new one(450-500W should be enough if you are not a big gamer)

install your power supply on your Case/box ,

3  Motherboard 5 sometimes you need to install the cpu and the cpu fan on the motherboard before to put your motherboard inside the Case ... (especially true if you use a big cpu fan for overclocking) ... but you could also install the motherboard first . depend of your choice .

install the motherboard in the box so that its holes are lined up with the cases holes and fix the motherboard inside the case with provided screws

install the various wires that connect your Motherboard to the computer case and power supply.

Connect the  power supply to the Motherboard. .

connect power case power button, LED connectors...just take a look at your motherboard manual  they  provided you

4  CPU & Fan 5 If you want a very fast & strong computer for chess or games. The cpu is the main concern . More your CPU is fast more your computer & chess engine is stronger

Install your cpu first , there is only one way to put your cpu and fix it on the motherboard :D

Want your CPU to last longer and run faster? silver thermal compound will lower your CPU temperature by up to 10 C.It is cheap but very good for cpu ...apply a little bit on the back of your cpu between the cpu and your fan.

now install the cpu fan, and connect it to cpu fan power on he motherboard. If you have a very bif cpu fan it will need to be connected on the powersupply too ... depend of your cpu fan

5  Memory 1-2 This step should not take you more more than 1 or 2 mn.

Once you have the Memory chip in the memory slot, press down firmly till it snaps into place.

Just be sure that you bought the right memory for your motherboard  (DDR,ECC,DDRII ....) :D

Sometimes you have to buy them 2 by 2

6  Floppy Drive 5 install the floppy disk on your case  ... with access to your floppy from outside :D . Fix with screws your floppy disk inside the box

connect the floppy disk to motherboard and power supply

7  DVD-R(W).. 5 X 1 or 2 before installing your  2 DVD-RW make sure that you have one slave and one master ... look at the back of your DVD player. Master is the main DVD player, slave you could assign to the DVD recorder

Fix them with screws on your case

connect them to the power supply and motherboard

8 Hard Drive 5 If your hardrive is SATA II you don t have to be worried about slave or master no more :D

just make sure that you fix it correctly inside the box and connect to the SATA connection on the motherboard + connect to power supply

9 Graphic Card 2 Once you have the Graphic card  in PCI Express X16 slot, press down firmly till it snaps into place.

some Graphic card have also fan or you could even buy better graphic card fan in case you want to overclock too.Just make sure that you connect everything.

10 Sound Card /Modem 5-10 If your motherboard doesn t have sound card ,modem/network ,graphic card you have to install them on the PCI-E/PCI slots
11 verification 5-10 now before to close the box/case , verify that you fix & connect everything. that LED is connect too ... verify all steps.

make sure that everything is connect to the power supply if they need to be

if everything is ok then you could close your box . The hardware part is done .

just connect the keyboard, mouse, screen to your computer and you could begin the software part

  less than 1 hour
12 Boot & install drivers depend

of your new cpu :D

Now with all new motherboard you should be able to boot from your dvd-rom

Now with window XP or new Vista DVD it should boot by himself, you don t have no more to boot by floppy disk :D lol  ...

if not , then just tape install or go to the BIOS :D

if everything is ok now, install all drivers (motherboard, Graphic card, sound card, modem....) and just enjoy your new computer
